On June 18th, 1967, Jimi Hendrix made history at the Monterey International Pop Festival - closing his set with the now famous fire sacrifice of his 1965 Fiesta Red Strat. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this legendary performance, Fender has produced this limited edition recreation of the Stratocaster that ignited a generation.
• Hendrix hand-painted a flowery design on his legendary Strat - in nail polish, no less - the night before he was to close out the inaugural event and brought it out for his final song, "Wild Thing". The Monterey Strat's body art is an homage to Hendrix's hand-painted original, giving fans, players and collectors the chance to own a modern classic.
• Features single-coil Stratocaster pickups that evoke Fender's classic '60s tones.
• Hendrix's signature is featured on the rear of the headstock.
• The Monterey Stratocaster has a custom neck plate featuring an engraved image of Hendrix.
